# Quest and task tools

> Claimr MCP tools for groups, quests, tasks, task types, and pre-quests.

These tools build the structure of a campaign: groups hold quests, and quests hold tasks. See [Claimr core components](/claimr-core-components) for how they fit together.

## Groups

| Tool | What it does | Access |

| `claimr_get_groups` | Lists the groups of a campaign. | Campaigns: read |
| `claimr_create_group` | Creates a group. A campaign needs at least one group before quests are shown. | Campaigns: write |
| `claimr_update_group` | Changes a group's settings. | Campaigns: write |
| `claimr_delete_group` | Removes a group. Its quests stay in the campaign, unattached. | Campaigns: write |

## Quests

| `claimr_get_quest` | Gets one quest with its tasks, by slug or ID. | Quests: read |
| `claimr_create_quest` | Creates a quest and places it in a group. Without a group, the quest is created but participants won't see it. | Quests: write |
| `claimr_update_quest` | Changes a quest's settings. | Quests: write |
| `claimr_move_quest` | Moves a quest to another group, or to a new position in its group. | Quests: write |
| `claimr_reorder_quest_tasks` | Sets which tasks a quest holds and in what order. Tasks left out are detached but stay in the campaign. | Quests: write |
| `claimr_delete_quest` | Deletes a quest. Its tasks stay in the campaign. | Quests: write |

## Task types

Claimr supports more than 200 task types across X, Discord, Telegram, Reddit, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, Web3 wallets and chains, exchanges, forms, API checks, and more. The assistant uses these tools to find the right type and the fields it needs.

| `claimr_get_task_type` | Shows the fields a task type takes, which are optional, and an example. | None |

## Tasks

| `claimr_create_task` | Creates a task and attaches it to a quest. Returns any issues Claimr found in the task's settings. | Quests: write |
| `claimr_update_task` | Changes a task's settings. Returns any issues Claimr found. | Quests: write |
| `claimr_delete_task` | Deletes a task and detaches it from every quest. | Quests: write |

## Pre-quests

Pre-quests are claimed on the pre-launch page, before the campaign opens. They bank XP and points for participants.
