# Onchain KYC tasks

> Check that users passed KYC on Coinbase or Binance, read from their wallet, with no API key.

## What are onchain KYC tasks?

Onchain KYC tasks confirm that a user passed identity verification at a major exchange, using proof the exchange published onchain to the user's wallet. Users don't share an API key, and Claimr never receives their KYC data.

There are two onchain KYC task types:

* **Coinbase Verified**: The user holds Coinbase's Verified Account attestation on Base.
* **Binance BABT**: The user holds a Binance Account Bound Token on BNB Chain.

Both read the wallets the user signed in to Claimr with. One verified wallet is enough.

## Coinbase verified

1. Go to your quest and click **+ Create new task**.
2. Under the Category section, select **Identity & Proof of Humanity**.
3. In the Groups list, choose **KYC**.
4. Select **Coinbase Verified** from the list of task types.
5. Click **Continue** to proceed to task settings.

* **Completion points:** Set the number of points awarded when the user completes the task.
* **Points multiplier (%):** Add a percentage-based bonus to the total reward. Example: a 10% multiplier increases the final reward by 10%.
* **Require Coinbase One? (optional):** Check Coinbase One membership instead of a verified account.
* **Countries (optional):** Comma separated ISO country codes, for example `US, GB`. The user must be verified in one of them.
* **Excluded countries (optional):** Comma separated ISO country codes that can't take part.
* **Verification link (optional):** Where users get verified, for example `https://www.coinbase.com/onchain-verify`.

Coinbase issues these attestations on Base through the Ethereum Attestation Service. Claimr checks that Coinbase issued the attestation to the user's wallet and hasn't revoked it and that it hasn't expired.

<Note>
  The country filters use a separate Coinbase country verification, which fewer users have. Users without it fail the task when either country filter is set. Claimr only compares the country and never stores it.
</Note>

## Binance BABT

1. Go to your quest and click **+ Create new task**.
2. Under the Category section, select **Identity & Proof of Humanity**.
3. In the Groups list, choose **Binance**.
4. Select **Binance BABT** from the list of task types.
5. Click **Continue** to proceed to task settings.

* **Completion points:** Set the number of points awarded when the user completes the task.
* **Points multiplier (%):** Add a percentage-based bonus to the total reward. Example: a 10% multiplier increases the final reward by 10%.
* **Verification link (optional):** Where users mint their BABT, for example `https://www.binance.com/en/babt`.

Only KYC-verified Binance users can mint a Binance Account Bound Token (BABT), and it can't be transferred. Holding one proves a verified Binance account. A BABT that Binance revoked no longer counts.
